Can someone please remind me what studio made the matrix repairs to the Fish Church/First Presbyterian in Stamford, Conn.....a few years back.....Rohlf, Rambusch, or ???? I would like to get some particulars on what they actually did. Thanks.

The entire south facade was remade by Rohlf in the 1980s in an attempt to stop the leaking. It was done in Thermoset Epoxy instead of the original concrete used by Loire. The leaking has resumed, but from what I can see from examination of the windows around two years ago, it is due to deterioration of the glass rather than the epoxy. See the attached photo.Peter Rohlf should be able to give you a more exact description of the procedure.There was a RFQ two years to address the problem, but I don't know the outcome of the request.

Do you think the glass has deteriorated due to snow/moisture sitting on it...and then hot sun ??

I think the glass was not properly formulated to begin with. There are many pieces similar to the one in the photo. Peter Rolhf told me that the glass was a combination of Blenko, French and perhaps Hertitage glass from a company in Utah that I believe is no longer in business. Attached is a photo of an original north side concrete panel by Loire. There are also many original pieces like this. I presume this is all French glass.

If that one piece was/is a Loire piece, it certainly looks deteriorated......and , to my understanding, the walls not vertical was an unusual situation that perhaps "caused" some/many of the problems....I will send Hans Peter a note...thanks!!!

Tom, as I recall from that walk thru the bad glass was mostly blue. Which would back you your theory that it was poorly made glass
